My new shop.

I started my ETSY SHOP!!!

First of all,  I want to wish my amazing grand-daughter Kacey Elena a very, very happy first birthday.

Kacey, grandma and grandpa love you with all our heart and soul.  We wish for you love, compassion, peace and everything that you may need to make you the happiest little person in this world. May you always have joy in your life.

Unfortunately, she was a bit under the weather, but she was still gorgeous. Just look at these pictures.

Okay NOW!!!!!

I am super excited to announce that I have re-opened my Etsy shop, "Simply Done Crochet", and plan to really try my best to create and share my creations with anyone that may need one for their little ones or maybe for their photography business.
Here's the link.  Check it out.  https://www.etsy.com/shop/SimplyDoneCrochet

In keeping with the season, here is the newest hat that I made; An Irish Bowler for an adorable cute little baby.  Can you imagine this cute little hat on top of the cutest little nakie newborn head, and that huge tie just snuggled under a precious little chin?

These are a few of the things that I have made and sold recently.

Lavender and yellow receiving blanket.

Newborn lavender and cream headband with matching leg warmers.

Newborn purple and teal headband with matching leg warmers.

3" owls for a baby shower.  They are appliques, but were used as party favors and hung from centerpieces.
These owls were inspired by: https://www.etsy.com/shop/MariMartin

This little cookie eating monster right here,

was my first sale on Etsy.

These camera lens buddies are pretty simple to make.  If you can crochet, you can pretty much come up with anything you like.  Here is a link to a basic buddy pattern. This girl has really simple step by step instructions with pictures.  She's awesome!!!

My grandson just outgrew his little hats, so of course I had to make him a new one.  So I made him this adorable aviator hat.

Pattern was created by: Yarnovations.com Check out her Etsy shop.  She has gorgeous things there

I also made this petite headband, made for a toddler.  I wanted it for Luna, but she won't have it.  She doesn't like things on her head, unless it's a hat for outside. It's too bad because, it looks adorable.

 Interested? Give me a ring-a-ding.
and by that I mean message me on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/crabbieme
or email me at: www.crabbieme.martha@gmail.com

Headband with interchangeable flowers.  Just connect to the button.

Please check out this shop.  It's where I got the idea for this headband/warmer.  https://www.etsy.com/shop/YarnBlossomBoutique

(The flowers are a message for spring to hurry the heck up. ;) )

Okay, so here's my latest experiment.  I decided that since I was concentrating on newborn props for photos and such, I should maybe add some tutus to my collection.  They seem pretty easy to make. Well, I tried it out, and here is my first attempt at a tutu.  The picture really doesn't do it justice.  It is adorable in person.

I will definitely be making me some tutus. Wish me luck!!

And with this I bid you Adieu. (for now)

Peace and Love Always!!

And we have reached the end of 2013.

WOW!!!!

What an amazing year it has been.

***********************

This year brought two more beautiful additions to my wonderful family.

In February came the birth of my second grand-daughter, Kacey Elena.

And in May came my first grandson Elias Nathaniel Dante.

That same month we celebrated the 1st birthday of my first grand-daughter Luna Bella.

That's right with one comes the attitude. ;)

Along with the changes to my home life, I had a big change in my work.  My wonderful friend and mentor, Vilma Bell, decided to retire and leave me to fend for myself in this sometimes cruel and rough world of employment. Thankfully I still had those awesome kids to keep me together.

Thankfully the changes to my job were good ones all around.  Other than my sweet and inspiring administrator leaving for a better and probably more tranquil environment ;) I dd gain a new friend and co-worker.  Thank you Tricia for helping me transition gently; and to all my wonderful co-workers that never hesitated to share a smile and a nice word or two. :D

In addition, I had a fantastic high school reunion, and was able to see many of the beautiful ladies that I went to high school with.  When I say beautiful I mean it; inside and out.  I was lucky to have attended a school with these kind women.

*********************************

And of course, I must add that mother nature was there everyday to inspire and calm my spirit, with it's colors and sounds and atmospheric energy.

Along with my honey, Antonio Cordero, who was there with me every step of the way as well.

So farewell, 2013, thank you for the good times and for the challenges. The fabulous days spent with family and friends. The memories that were added to mental vault, which hopefully will not lock me out too soon. :D

Hasta next year!!!

On going projects....

So today, as I took care of my little Luna, I worked a little more on the blankets that I am crocheting.  Here is a sneak peak:

This is the throw that I am making for my friend from work.  She had given me a few colors to pick from.  This is the combination I chose and I have to say that I think it works pretty well.  Can't wait to finish.

The pattern is basically a ripple or chevron pattern.  I chose how many lines to make for each color to give it a nice patterning.

This is a nice chevron tutorial to begin working with:

The other blanket I am working on is this pretty lavender baby blanket.  The pattern is very simple and works up very quickly.

You can find the basic pattern here:

This is a very easy to follow step by step tutorial.  Good luck and have fun.

Oh and I have to add, that on this day I tried out a very interesting recipe.  Bacon chocolate chip cookies.  They were delicious.  Here is the recipe I used.

Here is the recipe to the cookies.

There are many that you can experiment with on Pinterest.  Check it out!!!

Have fun trying out these great patterns and recipe.

Stay safe.

  PEACE and LOVE
